A Day In The Life

A typical day for your puppy or dog will consist of supervised play, one-on-one training, tailored enrichment activities and structured rest times. We offer a variety of customized add-ons that can change what a typical day looks like. When you submit your new client form, we will ask you about your dogs preferences, goals for training, and any previous training completed. As you prepare for your first session with Wags & Woofs Academy, we will remind you to bring a collar and/or harness, leash, lunch (if they eat one), training treats, and a chew with them.

For our full-day sessions this is the general schedule your puppy or dog will follow:

  1. 8a - 10a:
Pups and doggos arrive. As new dogs arrive, they are placed into appropriate play groups or structured enrichment activities to begin burning off some of their morning energy.

  2. 10a - 12p:
Our team of trainers will rotate dogs between periods of play (indoor and outdoor), group training, one-on-one training, enrichment activities and rest! It is very important for dogs to rest during the day. Constant stimulation will disrupt their circadian rhythm, lead your dog to be active around the clock and inhibit them from developing their natural ability to relax and self-soothe. During this time we also begin outings and add-on services starting with half-day dogs first.

  3. 12p - 1p:
Lunch and rest! No lunch? No problem! We will still give all dogs time to rest during this window. If you’ve purchased a Kong, Toppl, or treat puzzle, we’ll offer it during this time too. All half-day pickups takes place during this window.

  4. 1p - 4p:
Back to rotations of play, enrichment, training, and rest!

  5. 4p - 6p:
During this time your dog is typically starting to wind down for the day and wrap-up with group play. While they wait for you to pick them up, we will work individually with dogs on a variety of basic obedience and life skills.

Once all dogs have been picked up, our facility is deep cleaned and sanitized. We take the health of your dog seriously and take all preventative measures to keep them safe. All play equipment, crates, toys, bowls, towels/blankets and surfaces used by dogs are disinfected each night and as used throughout the day.
