What makes us different?
The traditional doggy daycare model can be stressful for many dogs. Why? Constant stimulation and lack of structure can leave pups feeling overwhelmed. At Wags & Woofs Academy we set out to do things differently. Combining our own experiences seeing what doesn’t work about traditional doggy daycare settings, we created a program that allows your dogs to thrive.
Each day consists of supervised small group play, individual training, and custom tailored activities to meet your dog’s specific needs. We only allow 5 puppies and 5 adult dogs per day allowing our team of dog trainers to give your dog the attention they deserve.
So, what really makes us different? We’re not daycare. We’re Day School with periods for play, periods for rest, and periods for learning.

Each day we only allow 5 puppies and 5 dogs to reserve a spot. With this small group, our team of dog trainers can carefully craft play groups, spend adequate 1:1 time with each dog, and ensure no dog is left out or overwhelmed.

Our dogs are supervised by a team of professional dog trainers. These trainers are responsible for overseeing all programming including training outings, individual training sessions, enrichment activities and small group play. Read more about them below!

Did you know that dogs are biologically wired to need rest during the day? If you’re dog is constantly stimulated, they will not learn how to self-soothe and relax. The constant stimulation of traditional daycare environments can promote behavior problems such as anxiety, hyperactivity, overarousal and reactivity. Each day we rotate our dogs between periods of play, learning, and rest so they learn how to take breaks and remain calm around other dogs.

Traditional doggy daycare environments rely on large groups of dogs constantly playing to occupy their days. Our trainers carefully curate play groups each day to set your pup up for success. Dogs are matched into pairs or small groups based on size, age, temperament and play style. Play also includes group training exercises, relaxation training and structured enrichment activities. Calm adult mentor dogs are available to play with new dogs who have play skill deficits, have a history of negative social experiences or are fearful around other dogs.
